GoKugo
Editorial Policy
Independence, corrections, authorship and the rules we hold ourselves to.
GoKugo exists to help people buy well. That only works if readers can trust the recommendations, so our editorial rules are written down and published.
Independence
No brand, retailer or agency can pay for coverage, placement, a ranking or a review. We do not accept sponsored posts, paid links or affiliate arrangements that influence which products appear in a guide. Commercial relationships are limited to standard affiliate commissions on links, which are disclosed on every page.
How products are chosen
Products are selected by the editorial team after testing. A product cannot be added to a guide by a marketing department, and no brand is given the opportunity to approve or amend copy before publication.
Authorship
Guides are written and reviewed by named members of the GoKugo editorial team. Where a guide draws on specialist advice, such as veterinary or early-years guidance, the source is named in the text.
Use of automation
We use software for research, price tracking and administrative work. Every recommendation, score and sentence in a published guide is reviewed by a human editor, who is accountable for it. We do not publish unreviewed machine-written recommendations.
Corrections
If we publish something inaccurate, we correct it and note the change at the foot of the guide. Substantive corrections are dated. To report an error, email editorial@gokugo.com.
Updates
Guides are reviewed at least twice a year, and more often during November and December when prices and stock change quickly. Each guide shows the date it was last checked.
Comments and contact
We do not host reader comments. We do read every email, and reader corrections have changed more than one guide. Write to hello@gokugo.com.
