Electronic Games vs Video Games: What the Categories Mean
Casino platforms label categories in ways that confuse everyone. 'Electronic games' and 'video games' are the clearest example.
Two categories that compete for the same screen time
The fishing zone and the live casino section occupy opposite ends of the same spectrum: one is fast, mechanical and solo, the other is slow, social and streamed.
A fishing zone gathers shooting games, arcade cabinets and simple dice titles into a single category. It is usually presented with heavy visuals – water, neon, big multipliers – and it is designed to look completely different from the slot grid beside it.
These games are fast, self-directed and mostly solo, though many titles place several players on the same screen so that a boss fish becomes a shared target.
The live section streams real tables with human dealers. It is slower by design, with betting windows of eight to twenty seconds and rounds of forty to seventy an hour.
Its purpose is trust and atmosphere: a physical shuffle and a visible deal answer any question about how a result was produced, and the dealer provides the social presence that automated games deliberately removed.
Pace is the deciding factor. Fishing and arcade games suit short, intense bursts with a fixed shot budget. Live tables suit extended sessions where you want to watch, chat and think between hands.
The cost also differs: arcade titles resolve hundreds of rounds per hour at relatively high edges, while most live table games run at edges below 3%. Per hour played, a live baccarat table is typically a fraction of the cost of an arcade session at similar stakes.
Keep a separate budget for the arcade section. Its pace makes any shared budget evaporate.
| Fishing zone pace | Very fast, hundreds of rounds/hour |
| Live section pace | 40 - 70 rounds/hour |
| Live section purpose | Trust and atmosphere |
| Best practice | Separate budgets for each |
Per hour played, usually yes - the round frequency is much higher.
Most live tables include a chat window, moderated by the studio.
Live tables with clear rules and low edges; arcade games are the most expensive place to learn.
